Ballycullen Stakes(Listed Stakes)

The Listed Ballycullen Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday gives those stayers below the top level a chance to shine.

Roses For The Lady is arguably the one genuine group one performer in the lineup, albeit her seond in the Irish Oaks coming behind facile winner Sariska. Her seasonal reappearance when third to Tactic was reasonable form and on form lines with Profound Beauty there is likely to be little between herself and Drumfire.

The latter was a useful performer for Mark Johnson last season and has continued that progress since his switch to Eoin Griffin. Runnerup to the aforementioned Profound Beauty at Leopardstown last time he ran on the level, he subsequently filled the same position over hurdles at Galway.

Silverhand has been a revelation since returned to the flat late last season and also improved back over hurdles when winning at Galwat recently. Noel Meades 6-y-o has every chance at the weights here and can make the frame.

Summary: Roses For The Lady is a tentative selection, with her chance improving if thr ground is testing. Drumfire and Silverhand can fight out the places.
