His only defeat so far has been finishing in fifth place behind Approve in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Subseqently scoring a victory in the Group Three Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, along with a worthy outing at Newmarket a fortnight past, he will again have another chance at that grade.

Zebedee is the only starter for trainer Richard Hannon who is hoping for a good performance from the youngster.

“Zebedee showed at Newmarket that he gets the six furlongs, but arguably this five is his optimum trip,” he said on his website.

“There looks like being plenty of pace in the race which will suit us perfectly as Hughesie (jockey Richard Hughes), who knows the little horse inside out, will be able to creep there quietly and, hopefully, produce one of his customary late swoops.”

The field of runners will also include the undefeated New Planet, Electric Waves, Dinkum Diamond, French competitor Keratiya along with the Irish contingent of Meow and Ladie’s Choice.
