Dawn Omega Milk EBF Mares Novice Hurdle (Listed) Preview
The Mares have their big day at Limerick on Sunday and the feature race looks a real thriller with the high class Morning Supreme taking on the unbeaten For Bill in what appears on paper to be a two horse race.
Willie Mullins 7-y-0 sets the standard here on her bumper form last season, the high points being a 5th placing behind Dunguib at Cheltenham and 3rd in the Mares Bumper at Aintree. Since being switched to hurdling this season she has done nothing wrong and deserves her place at the head of the market for Sundays contest.
For Bill, on the other hand has been competing in lesser company but has gradually stepped up in grade and now takes on the big players for the first time. This is the biggest test Mick Winters mare has faced to date and she certainly will not go down without a fight here.
It is difficult to see any of the others being good enough and at the likely prices we would be hoping to steal an each-way bet on For Bill at around 3/1-7/2. Both these mares have potential to go along way over flights and could well be lining up in the Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham in another year.
