Four Runners in National Stakes for O’Brien

Trainer Aidan O’Brien’s charges will be prominent among the starters for the boylesports.com Vincent O’Brien National Stakes on Saturday, with Zoffany heading up his four pronged attack.

After having a disappointing performance at Royal Ascot, the Dansili colt has gone back to winning ways winning Listed and Group Three races at Leopardstown prior to his triumph in the Phoenix Stakes on his last start.

Futurity Stakes third High Ruler, fourth Samuel Morse and fifth Rudolf Valentino, will accompany Zoffany in the event.

Trainer Jessica Harrington will be represented by the Futurity victor Pathfork, with an attempt to list the event among his Group Two victories.

After being beaten by a slim margin last time, the Jim Bolger trained Glor Na Mara, runner up in the Phoenix and Futurity, will attempt a return to the winners enclosure.

Rounding off the list of challengers are Godolphin’s Washington Singer winner Janood, Michael Halford trained Casamento and Dermot Weld charge A Word Apart.
