Selection

A very interesting renewal of the Futurity here at the Curragh, Aiden O’Brien comes here four handed and while Samuel Morse may have been to the well one time to many this season, High Ruler – 2nd in the 4 runner Tyros Stakes to Zoffany, that Cape Blanco, New Approach and Teofilo won on the way to sucess in the Futurity – can’t be completely ruled out. Robin Hood by the mighty Galileo, who sired the same 3 former winners named above, while slowly getting the hang of this game with a win last time out, was 4l behind Pathfork here in July.

Red hot favourite Glor Na Mara, very highly regarded by his stable, got stuck in the yeilding ground on debut and followed that up by just getting ‘done’ by Zoffany in the group 1 Phoenix Stakes 13 days ago – Horatio Nelson(05) and Oratorio(04)  both took this running 13 days earlier. Has some fancy entries and is as low as 10/1 for next years Newmarket guineas and is obviously the danger.

For value and for the trends PATHFORK  ticks quite a few boxes, winner last time out over this distance here beating hot favourite Robin Hood 4l in 2nd and had the Kevin Predergast trained Mawaakef 6l back in 4th – both have won since. Very well related to Danzig and out of a Saddlers Wells mare, the Jessica Harrigton trained colt can give a good account of himself in this quality group 2.
