Some of you may be aware of this, most probably won’t, but for the last 10 or 12 years I’ve been actively involved in the betting and gaming industry as a writer, researcher and at times a journalist, of sorts, for a large number of online websites, offline publications and I’ve even done the odd bit of TV work when they were desperate enough to risk an ugly mug like mine adorning their viewer’s screens
When we first started “Horse-Racing.ie” last year the idea was that I’d be in a position to write a lot more than I’ve ever been able to for the site, but that never really materialised because my little girl, who is still only two, has spent a huge amount of her short life in hospital and to be perfectly honest, my mind was never exactly on the job. It’s 2009 now, family life is a whole lot better than it was, and with Cheltenham just around the corner I’m positive about the year ahead, so we’re now in a position to provide you with the kind of service we always set out to achieve.
If you click on the “Training” link on the top menu, or access any of the categories in the “Betting Articles & Advice” section in the second navigation bar, you’ll find numerous articles from yours truly about all different kinds of gambling and betting. Some of it may interest you, some may not, but it should at least give you an idea of the commitment I have for the site now and over the coming months I’ll do my best to tailor the material I write about to suit the majority of visitors and subscribers of “Horse-Racing.ie”.
As you can probably tell, one day I might wake up and think “OK, today let’s talk about the percentages in craps” and the next I might think “it’s a day for bashing slot machines”, and there’s no particular logic to the madness, so if you have any particular requests – something you’re unsure of with horse racing, sports betting or the betting exchanges, for example – then please let me know and I’ll do my best to oblige!
