Mal Boyle Stats – Friday 26th

LATEST ENTRY (8.55) – LEADING TRAINERS THIS SEASON (WITH RUNNERS TODAY) AT DONCASTER:

4/19–(+18 level stake profit) Jonjo O’Neill (8 runners)

3/9–(+8) Emma Lavelle (1 runner)

3/9–(1) Dan Skelton (3 runners)

36 races this season – 17 winning favourites – 33/36 winners scored at a top price of 11/1

Thursday’s school report:

We’re still not getting the rub of the green despite beating the book handsomely on many occasions.  Four times yesterday we beat the book (9/4 to 6/5, 9/2 to 3/1, 6/1 to 4/1 & 2/1 to 6/4) – only for the quartet to all finish second!

In form trainers faired reasonably well (20/1 treble Donald McCain via four runners) + 13/1 double for Henry Daly via three raiders, the loser having finished second.

I have updated yesterday’s ‘Ahead Of The Game’ feature relating to today’s racing at the foot of the column – better luck today guys…

‘AHEAD OF THE GAME’ FEATURE FROM YESTERDAY – RELATING TO TODAY:

DONCASTER:

Class 5 Handicap Hurdle (3.40): Six-year-olds have won three of the four renewals, whilst all four gold medallists carried a minimum burden of 11-1.

Three horses possess ticks in both of the trend boxes; Scrutinise, Strait Og Magellan & Life Knowledge

HUNTINGDON:

Class 4 Novice Hurdle (1.35): Six-year-olds lead the five-year-olds 5-3 via the last nine renewals. Favourites of one description or another have won four of the last six contests.  Nicky Henderson held five options at the time of writing in a race which he has won with his last two runners when represented.  Nicky has not declared either of his two option.

Novice Handicap Hurdle (Scheduled for 2.05): Six-year-olds have won five of the six contests, whilst the top priced winner to date was returned at 9/1.  Just one winning (15/8) favourite to report thus far. Six-year-olds are 3/1 to extend the good run via four entries before form is taken into account.

Class 2 – 25 furlong handicap hurdle (3.15): We still await the first successful market leader following four renewals, three of which have been won by six-year-olds.  All four winners have carried a maximum burden of 10-10.  Two horses possess ticks in both of the trend boxes; Protek Des Flos & The Mighty Don.

Class 4 – 20 furlong handicap hurdle (3.50): Five of the six winners have carried 11-1 or more, whilst six of the seven winners have scored at a top price of 7/1.  Five and six-year-olds have equally shared four of the last five contests.  The weight trend is irrelevant this year as all horses carry 11-4+.

Be lucky of course but as ever – be aware!
