Mal Boyle Stats – Friday 29th

Thursday’s school report:

Only the 2 MMA winners at 8/1 (returned at 5/2) & 5/2 (9/4) to report from yesterday though once again, we hit the woodwork five times with horses well backed at 20/1 (9/1), 13/2 (3/1), 6/1 (11/4), 11/2 (5/1) & 7/2 (5/4) – four of which finished second!

That said, I alerted you to a nice 7/1 Ralph Beckett winner at Newmarket which was the only horse mentioned in dispatches when comparing the card to last year’s corresponding (three day) results….

Fairly light betting to report for a Friday in the dead of night – too many meetings perhaps?

  • I should point out that in offering Ralph Beckett’s 7/1 winner yesterday (see middle paragraph above), I suggested that Ralph would not be represented at Newmarket this evening which was an error.  Ralph has offered the green light to Breath Caught in the Placepot finale at 8.30.

TWO YEAR OLD NOTES:

2.30 Doncaster:

It’s difficult to separate the top three in the market at the time of writing but as an each way option (to minimum stakes), I’m obliged to suggest that I Am Magical is well regarded at Hugo Palmer’s stable and win, lose or draw today, you can keep an eye on this Declaration Of War filly for the future…..

2.40 Yarmouth:

It could prove to be a good (juvenile) day for Hugo Palmer with the trainer offering a debut to James Street in this event, even though it might asking quite a lot of his Gale Force Ten newcomer to give experience away to Autumn Splendour from James Tate’s shrewd yard.

3.00 Doncaster:

The only money in the village this morning is for Hugo Palmer’s hot pot Blonde Warrior, the recent Yarmouth winner who went one better than when securing the silver medal on debut at Newbury.  Not a working man’s price, though I can only pass on the facts as they stand.

6.10 Newmarket:

There is plenty of (realistic) money in the positive queue for Richard Hannon’s Holy Roman Emperor filly Rollicking at the time of writing, despite the fact that Lover’s Knot comes to the gig with a good reputation from the guys and gals down on Charlie Appleby’s estate.  The latter named Invincible Spirit filly is a half-sister to Key Victory who won on his only start as a juvenile, whilst Rollocking kept on well for pressure behind New Winds recently

6.30 Chester:

11/8 about dual silver medallists in the juvenile division never attract yours truly to part with cash though that said, Jonathan Portman’s Even Keel is the obvious choice, especially as money for any of his rivals at the time of writing is only conspicuous by its absence.
