3.50: The last eight winners have all carried a minimum burden of 11-1.

General Warwick comment: Nigel Twiston-Davies secured a 44/1 double on the corresponding card last years, with Nigel having offered the green light to three of his four potential runners in midweek.

LINGFIELD:

3.30: Fearsome is the only ‘qualifier’ via the weight trends, given that five of the six winners carried a minimum burden of 9-2 to victory.

WOLVERHAMPTON:

AYR:

Gordon Elliott has sent two runners over from Ireland, offering stats of 7/44 at the track during this career.  If that ratio is a little disappointing by Gordon’s high standards, I should also point out that 12 of his beaten horses have finished second, with another seven having snared the bronze medal.  For the record, Gordon has eight possible runners here at Ayr on Tuesday.

Rose Dobbin has declared just the one runner (Smuggler’s Stash – 4.30) with the trainer boasting recent stats of 6/14, figures which have produced level profit stakes of 16 points.
