Paul Nicholls (Clan Des Obeaux) has saddled five of the last fifteen winners

Horses carrying a maximum of 11-3 have won 17/last 18 contests – horses carrying 10-12 or less have secured 20/last 24 Placepot positons, stats which include winners at 40/1-25/1-15/2-15/2

The last nine favourites (via six renewals) have all finished out of the frame

1st three in the betting: 2 winners – 1 placed – 15 unplaced

General stats – See my remarkable Paul Nicholls stats via the Sporting Life column relating to Ayr, whilst reporting that Dan Skelton secured a 30/1 double on the card last year – 5 runners today: Oldgrangewood (2.10), Mohaayed & Bertimont (2.45), Yorkist (3.20) & Whatduhavtoget (4.30)

THIRSK:

Early season winners at 80/1 & 11/1 via his first seven runners at the track last year means that Michael Appleby’s two runners are of particular interest, namely Classic Pirsuit (1.50) & One For Jodie (5.50)

NOTTINGHAM:

Tom Dascombe claimed a 15/1 double on last year’s card – 3 outsiders tonight: Katmandoo (6.30), Baker Street (7.00) & Gambit (7.30)

Be lucky but as ever – be aware!
