TWO YEAR OLD NOTES:

1.55 Doncaster:

San Donato ran into a real live one on debut at Yarmouth, whereby his four length defeat by Legends Of War still reads well from my viewpoint.  Roger Varian’s Lope De Vega colt was made favourite for what I described at the time as being a hot juvenile event. Newcomers Clem A and Nathless are worth keeping an eye for the future.

2.15 Musselburgh:

It might be too quick to write off the chance of No Lippy who disappointed her trainer and punters alike in the ‘Lily Agnes’ at Chester.  For all that it looked as though early season successes might have come to an and, Mark Johnston’s Ocean Dream filly was beaten less than four lengths and might represent some value here.

2.30 Doncaster:

There are plenty of options on offer but Eagle Hunter was described by trainer Hugo Palmer as a horse “phenominal mover – a standout horse at this stage” recently.  Artistic Rifles is a half brother to the useful Balty Boys who Charlie Hills also trained.  “A big, well made horse” was Charlie’s comment at recent stable tour.

7.00 Chepstow:

Shaybani should get very close to Big Boots in receipt of seven pounds after a fine debut effort at Goodwood.

7.10 Lingfield:

Jamie Osborne’s Canford Cliffs filly Sybil Grand should be worth following this season, especially given her entry in Newbury’s ‘Super Sprint’ contest later in the season.  Whether she is ready to score at the first time asking is another matter entirely.
