TWO YEAR OLD NOTES:

1.10 Newmarket:

Albeit in a competitive looking Listed event, So Brave looks to be something of a bet to nothing (each way) punt given the 6/1 quote which is freely available this morning.

1.35 York:

Although Alan King’s raider Dunkerron is asked to give weight away all round, Alan’s late (May) foal did well to score at the second time of asking and unless Royal Big Night is anything out of the ordinary, the projected favourite should oblige.

1.50 Windsor:

Media commentators are being quick to dismiss the chance of Mr Spirit after just one outing but Charlie Hills knows the time of day (has a terrific back up team) and the trainer was fulsome in his praise of his Invincible Spirit colt earlier in the year.  Beaten less than six lengths on debut at Newbury in a warm event, Mr Spirit might be worth another each way chance approaching double figures at the time of writing.

2.20 Newmarket:

Plenty of Richard Hannon newcomers are needing their dubut outings this season before holding genuine chances of victory and those words sum up Moyassar to a tee here, the Tamayuz colt having found one too good on his first day at school.  There are bits and pieces of money for the only newcomer in the field, namely Mark Johnston’s The Trader at around 12/1 which makes for interesting reading.  Forecast material?

3.00 Windsor:

James Tate is not the type of trainer to be frightened away by one horse, whereby James has offered Second Generation the green light to take on Richard Hannon’s hot pot Come On Leicester.  This pair are expected to draw clear of their rivals at the business end of proceedings.

3.40 Chester:

Conspiracy theories abound here as the projected market is trained by Tom Dascombe with the second favourite running in the colours of Dr Koukash.  I’ll let this race slide by accordingly!

3.50 Newcastle:

Money for Waterloo Dream would make the race more interesting but failing that, Ventura Ocean should go one better having made Chapelli (already a useful yardstick in the juvenile sector) work hard enough for his York success.

6.30: Doncaster:

Of the two projected market leaders, I’ll Have Another just gets the vote, though only because Mark Johnston has his Dragon Pulse filly entered up in a big York contest in August.  Secret Vote would have to be a little special in all probablity to beat two decent rivals who have an edge via race fitness.

7.15 Lingfield:

10/11 was available in a place early doors this morning (no longer available) about the James Tate raider Implicit.  James often wins more than his fair share of races when stable representatives are backed whereby sustained support throughout the day should point to a sure fire winner.  The nearer Implicit drift to evens (or odds against) would offer warning signs…

WINDSOR COMPARISON VIA LAST YEAR’S RESULTS AT THEIR 3 DAY MEETING WHICH STARTS TODAY:

21 races – 9 winning favourites – 20/21 winners scored at a top price of 8/1

Leading trainers:

4 winners–Roger Varian (7/2, 11/4, 13/8* & 5/4*) – Roger secured a 15/1 double on the Saturday last year – no other trainer saddled more than one winner during the course of the three days.  Unfortunately, Roger has just one runner entered up for the whole meeting which is Double Up (7.30 Monday) which will hopefully be confirmed later today.
