Mal Boyle Stats – Sunday 15th

*POINT OF ORDER – HAVING SO MUCH WORK TO CATCH UP ON TODAY – I WILL NOT BE COVERING NEWCASTLE’S  CARD – APOLOGIES BUT I BELIEVE (RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY) THAT ACCURACY OF DETAIL IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ‘SPREADING’ MYSELF TOO THINLY IN ORDER TO COVER EVERYTHING.  I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND/AGREE WITH THAT VIEWPOINT –

**BRIEF NEWCASTLE DETAILS RELATING TO IN FORM TRAINERS BELOW – NOTHING OF NOTE BEING BACKED THERE AT 8.00….

Saturday’s school report:

We went so very close to winning the National with a 33/1 chance via just two MMA entries in the big race yesterday.  Winners included those at 9/1, 9/2 & 4/1.

There were plenty of gold medallists in all sectors to keep the wolf from the door, not least John Gosden’s 25/1 winner at Lingfield.

In from trainers maintained tremendous momentum on Saturday aside from John Gosden, particularly mentioning Ralph Beckett (16/1), Tony Carroll (12/1), Tom Lacey (14/1 double via just the two runners) and Matt Sheppard (5/2) among the small but select crowd.

Saeed Bin Suroor’s 13/1 double from just the two runners on the day also brought plenty of weekend cheer!

THIS WAS OFFERED LAST WEDNESDAY IN PREPARATION FOR TOMORROW WINDSOR CARD…..

EARLY THOUGHTS ON WINDSOR NEXT MONDAY (16TH APRIL):

The leading trainer at Windsor in the early weeks of last season was Clive Cox who boasted a 3/5 ratio, statistics which had produced 22 points of level stake profit.

Clive has just the one runner entered on Monday which is Icart Point in the Class 5 three-year-old handicap which is scheduled for 4.50.  Making his handicap debut if declared to run, Icart Point might be best backed in running, given that he has taken quite a pull in his last two (of three) assignments.  It’s worth noting that Clive secured an 84/1 double on this corresponding card twelve months ago.

As far as the corresponding meeting is concerned, Rod Millman is the joint leading trainer on the three winner mark (11/1, 7/2* & 3/1**).  Rod has four runners in on Monday.  It will not surprise readers to know that sharing the leader-board down the years is Richard Hannon who has seven runners engaged at the time of writing.

The two-year-old race on the card could be very interesting because with Mick Channon having won with three of his four starters in the juvenile sector to date, Mick’s only potential runner in the juvenile event at the alternative royal venue is Solesmes who could make her debut for the popular handler.

Things might get really interesting before Monday however because Mick’s fifth two-year-old runner might have run at Wolverhampton (scheduled for 7.30) on Saturday, namely Knockabout Queen.  As ever, I will do my best to update news as it evolves.

UPDATE:

All six runners mentioned last week have stood their ground, namely Rod Millman’s four entries, Icart Point for Clive Cox and Mick Channon’s newcomer Solesmes.

Mick saddled a beaten two year old (Knockabout Queen) at Wolverhampton last night (ran very green in the early stages of the race) which has blotted his two-year-old copybook to a fashion, though I will still have a small interest in his juvenile, likely as not.

Rod Millman has been enjoying a decent run (2/4 +14) since I wrote the piece which makes Monday an interesting day, whilst Icart Point will be a pointer to the early season turf form of Clive Cox who secured a 15/2 A/W winner on Saturday.

WINDSOR STAT ATTACK FOR MONDAY – TODAY!:

Five year study period for the corresponding meeting:

38 races – 16 winning favourites – 31/38 winners scored at a top price of 11/1

Average Placepot dividend: £422.54

Highest dividend: £1,222.00 (201) – Lowest dividend: £88.00 (2017)

Leading trainers at the corresponding meeting during the study period:

3 winners—Richard Hannon (25/1, 5/1 & 5/6*) – 1 runner declared: Fast And Hot (3.50)

3 winners—Rod Millman (11/1, 7/2* & 3/1**) – 4 runners: Greeley & Greyzee (2.50), Glory Of Paris (4.20) & Hawridge Glory (5.25)

See you bright and early on the morrow – best of luck today!
