Mal Boyle stats – Thursday 17th

Mal’s Stats & Facts for Thursdaytrainer-stats5

This is always an ‘awkward’ time of year with meetings ‘thinning down’ in terms of the number of fixtures, whereby leading trainers from week to week are less likely to create really impressive figures, not in abundance anyway.

Three trainers stand out from the crowd recently (to a fashion at least) and each has one runner today which makes into a Patent or a ‘Trixie’ if you are content to leave singles out of the bet.  These horses are (respectively) on offer at around 6/1 – 15/2 – 5/1 this morning:

2/3—Sir Mark Prescott (16 points of level stake profits): Impassioned (4.40 Chelmsford)

3/3—Nigel Twiston-Davies: Little Pop (2.50 Wincanton)

3/3—Brian Ellison (+10 points LSP): Angel In The Snow (2.25 Newcastle)

The other point to make today with the rain lashing down outside is to always respect the runners of Venetia Williams when there is plenty of juice in the ground – three runners today: Eminent Poet (2.05 Market Rasen), Burtons Well (2.50 Wincanton) & Miracle Cure (4.00 Wincanton)

A/W update: I mentioned the “seven trainers” which were dominating away from turf yesterday and the latest ratios of trainers with runners today is as follows.

Please ignore the opening paragraph today in terms of numbers of runners, as Richard Fahey (5/38 of late – loss of one point to level stakes) saddles no less than 11 runners at Newcastle!

8/23—Saeed Bin Suroor (slight profit to level stakes): 2 runners: Creek Walk (12.20 Newcastle) & Kananee (12.50 Newcastle)

7/25—John Gosden (slight loss): 1 runner: Powerful Passage (5.15 Chelmsford)
