Mal Boyle Stats – Thursday 19th

Wednesday’s school report:

Only one 13/2 MMA winner yesterday which I will readily admit is not good enough, certainly by the high standards we have set since the start of the service.  Teacher’s comment: “must improve” – student’s answer: “will improve”!

Thankfully some of the other sectors worked out well.

Charlie Appleby (first name offered) won with three of his five runners = 58/1 treble.  John Gosden won with his two runners at Kempton (19/2 double).  Ralph Beckett weighed in with a 14/1 winner; stats now read 5/13 (+36).  Richard Fahey saddled his fourth winner of the season at Newmarket at 8/1.

*POINT OF ORDER – John Quinn does not send many runners to Newmarket at this early stage of the season but that said, the popular trainer has secured a winner there in each of the last two season at this corresponding fixture, last year’s gold medallist having won for us at 12/1.  John’s first runner this week runs in the opening race, with Captain Jameson available at 13/2 in three places this morning (Betfair, Sunbets & Paddy Power).  There is plenty of money in the positive (realistic) exchange queue for John’s raider at 15/2 whereby the price is not expected to drift too much as the morning passes by. Confidence would have been higher had the sun not decided to show its face this week however, whilst the ‘recent’ gelding operation offers an ‘unknown factor’.  A saver at the price should do little harm at least (given the price), should you fancy anything else in the race.

Leading trainers at the corresponding meeting during the study period:

Six trainers sit on the three winners mark during the study period.  Perhaps the most interesting of them is Martyn Meade given that he only has one runner on the card, whilst his runners are of exceptional interest if money is down on the relevant inmates.  Martyn’s only runner Monoxide (available at 16/1 in places this morning) contests the ‘Wood Ditton’ at 2.25 and whatever the fate of the Galileo raider on Thursday, his entry alone is worth bearing in mind for the future, especially as Martin’s March foal has an entry in the Epsom Derby in June.

RIPON:
