Mal Boyle Stats – Thursday 21st

MAL BOYLE STATS – THURSDAY 21 JUNE

Wednesday’s school report:

4 MMA WINNERS on Wednesday at 20/1 (returned at 5/1), 7/1 (7/1), 7/2 (3/1) & 11/4 (2/1) – no less than 9 placed horses, notwithstanding a 40/1 chance which was backed down to 8/1 – without raising a gallop – you can’t win them all!

Throw in another 11 winners via my ‘away meeting’ trainers to follow from last week (including those at 7/1, 7/1, 13/2, 11/2, 9/2 and 4/1 (twice) and all in all, Wednesday was a great improvement on Tuesday!

Indeed, those ‘away meeting’ trainers I offered last week have produced 19 winners during the first two days!

TWO TEAR OLD NOTES:

1.45 Chelmsford:

Not a race to focus on for too long, especially with the projected favourite already having been beaten three times.  That said, Revich has been well enough placed by Richard Spencer to go close again, though I will be keeping an eye on Sylvia’s Mother with an eye for the weeks/month to come with Joe Tuite reporting the she is a likable type of filly with a future, albeit at a realistic level.

2.10 Ripon:

Hills went 9/2 about Semoum in the dead of night which seemed a tad big though the firm have only clipped Gay Kelleway’s raider into 4/1 which is a bit of a blow.  It’s too early to detect which way the wind will blow.

2.30 Royal Ascot:

There was a rumour going around Ascot before racing started this week that Shang Sang Shang was the best of Wesley Ward’s raiders on show at the royal meeting though that said, she will have to become the first filly to win this event in 18 years.  I’m not suggesting that she is not up to the task but as a 14/1 chance, The Paddocks must be in with an each way shout – on two counts.  Firstly, the majority of Richard Hannon’s juveniles this year have needed a run to put them straight this season, though that did not apply to this Charm Spirit colt who won well at the first time of asking at Newbury.  Secondly, Richard’s words back in the spring included the lines; “A lovely colt that is precocious and knows what he is doing’.  In what might prove to be a slightly sub-standard contest, 16/1 looks far too big about Richard’s March foal.

6.50 Lingfield:

Miss Celestial, Reconnaissance and Roxy Art are all expected to pay their way in time but on their first day school they might be best watched, albeit they are listed in order of preference at this stage of the season.
