THURSDAY STAT ATTACKS:
14 races – 7 winning favourites – All 14 winners scored at a top price of 12/1
Leading represented trainer at Hamilton this season:
2/4—Tim Easterby (3/1 & 3/1*) – 1 runner: Big Ace (2.00)
I highlighted Tim as a trainer to watch out for yesterday and he secured a couple of winners at 7/2 on the day.
23 races – 7 winning favourites – All 23 winners scored at a top price of 7/1
Bookmakers are used to getting what they want in life and one thing is for sure today, local layers will want some outsiders to win given the figures above.
Recent rain will have gladdened their hearts and with the threat of more of the wet stuff today, stakes should probably be kept on the low side.
Leading trainers at Lingfield (turf) this season:
2/2—Jim Boyle (5/1 & 4/1) – 1 runner: Man Of Harlech (won’t mind the ground) in the 3.40 event.
2/2—Jonathan Portman (11/4** & 11/10*) One 50/1 chance (Academicien) in the 2.10 on the card; just the type of result the bookmakers at the track would love, though it rarely pays to generalise and never pays to presume!
FFOS LAS (NH):
7 races – 2 winning favourites – All 7 winners scored at a top price of 6/1
Just the one meeting at Ffos Las (NH) this season (last Saturday) when bookmakers could not find a winning outsider to make their evening.
Seven different trainers bagged winners and perhaps Evan Williams (4/1 gold medallist on the night) is the man to follow today with three runners at the track, namely Old Salt (8.00), Oscar Sunset (8.30) & Marble Moon (9.00)
Evan has saddles more winners at Ffos Las (39) during the last five years than at any other racecourse with Chepstow a distant second (28) via latest figures.
CHELMSFORD (last 5 meetings):
Latest Chelmsford findings:
35 races – 15 winning favourites – 32/35 winners scored at a top price of 10/1
Leading trainers during recent meetings:
Mark Johnston leads the way on the four winner mark but is not represented this evening. John Gosden (2/1*, Evens* & 4/6*) sits second in the list and on the eve of the start of the big Epsom meeting, it’s interesting to note that John has one (16/1 chance) on the card, namely Tobruk (8.10).
WOLVERHAMPTON (last 5 meetings):
Latest Wolverhampton findings:
37 races – 15 winning favourites – 33/37 winners scored at a top price of 12/1
Leading trainers during recent meetings:
No one trainers stands out from the crowd, with seven handlers having secured two winners at the course at recent meetings.
Perhaps Tom Dascombe (11/1 & 7/1) is the man to pull out of the pack as the popular trainer saddles two this afternoon at Dunstall Park, namely Big Time Maybe (2.50) & Epaulement (3.50)
TWO YEAR OLD NOTES:
Nothing to write home about unfortunately.
Michael Bell withdrew Fast Endeavour from a race recently because of the fast ground whereby this afternoon’s softer conditions might just suit Michael’s Pastoral Pursuits filly. Michael’s comment recently; “she does nothing but please and I think she could be a useful filly”.
Pass The Gin could be worth following this season though Andrew Balding’s raider is up against a couple here who are attracting money on the exchanges at the time of writing. Andrew’s Pheonix Reach filly is well related however and if you are desperate to have a bet in the race or even better, you are holding the enemy’s money about your person, a minimum each way investment might prove profitable.
