Mal Boyle Stats – Thursday 7th

Wednesday’s school report:

Another frustrating day – despite MMA WINNERS AT 10/1 (returned at 7/1), 9/2 (2/1), 10/11 (8/15) & 5/6 (1/2) on Wednesday.

One of my 2yo’s finished 2nd at 25/1 (“worth a minimum stake each way play”), whilst MMA placed horses included those at 12/1 (7/2), 12/1 (6/1), 10/1 (9/1), 9/1 (same price), 8/1 (11/4), 8/1 (5/1) & 7/1 (4/1) – there were no less than 10 in total!

We smashed up the prices all day and must be due to turn some of those placed horses into winners – very soon!

I (unusually) offered two slight odds on chances which created a 5/2 double, the SP twosome paying just 5/4.  Tim Easterby landed a 10/1 double with his only two runners at Hamilton, as highlighted in my Stat Attack for the Scottish venue.

My two-year-old notes were worth re-examining today, if and when you get the time. Let’s hope for better luck today – I’m fully aware that your patience is being tested on the Morning Market Assessment front at least!

Two trainers are worth noting from last season’s results:

3 winners—William Haggas (5/1, 4/1 & 4/9*) – only one runner has been declared over the opening two days of the meeting; Strategist (4.30 today).  William has four possible entries for Saturday at the time of writing – to be confirmed later this morning.

2 winners—Marjorie Fife (7/1 & 7/2) – Marjorie’s only runner over the course of the three days this time around runs today – Medicine Hat (5.00).

CORRESPONDING TWO DAY MEETING STATS FROM LAST YEAR AT CARLISLE (THURSDAY & FRIDAY AGAIN THIS YEAR):

15 races – 4 winning favourites – All 15 winners scored at a top price of 12/1, whilst twelve gold medallists were returned at odds of 5/1 or less.

Outstanding trainer over the two days last year:

3 winners—Michael Dods (12/1, 9/1 & 2/1*) – Michael secured a 29/1 double on the first day, with a 12/1 chance scoring in the opening event on day two!

Friday: Ramsbottom (1.30), Mininggold (2.00), Super Major (2.30) & Davy’s Dilemma (3.30)

TWO YEAR OLD NOTES:

2.10 Ripon:

Eyelool ran in a very hot race at Newbury which is working out particularly well.

2.20 Yarmouth:

Blonde Warrior has ticks in just about every box and should take the beating.

2.30 Haydock:

With everything else on the drift at the time of writing, it’s difficult to get away from Angel’s Hideaway.

3.00 Haydock:

Only Soldier’s Call and Blyton can be taken seriously and there might not be much daylight between the pair at the jamstick despite the disparity between the two in the early markets.

5.55 Sandown:

It’s worth noting that Heartwarming was withdrawn from a race at Nottingham at the back end of last month on account of the soft ground, despite having been backed on the exchanges prior to being taken out of the contest.  Clive Cox looks sure to go ahead with his Showcasing filly here as she has no other entries at the time of writing, notwithstanding tonight’s ground should just about be perfect for racing on the level.  Satisfying is the only rival to be standing up against the projected favourite on the exchanges, with just threepenny and sixpenny bits around for Zapla.  That said, that is more than is being spent on Sir Michael Stoute’s Dubawi filly Vivionn who will surely need a distance of ground before beginning to show the best of her potential.  Against that however, we should observe that the dam (Giant’s Play) was only beaten ‘three parts’ at the first time of asking on Kempton’s all weather surface.  Kurious has been the subject of good reports from Henry Candy’s yard.

6.05: Carlisle:

Stage Play is the tentative call with Michael Bell talker her up earlier in the year. She has not set the world alight but if she improves again as she did between her first two assignments, the Oasis Dream filly should go close to winning.

6.40 Carlisle:

Juvenile events at Windsor are not easy to win at the first time of asking and Seductive Moment appears to have been well placed to follow up for the Mark Johnston team.
