EARLY MORNING MARKET NEWS AT 8.00:

YARMOUTH:

2.00: As informed in my Placepot analysis this morning at 6.15, Mandarin Princess was attracting business at 50/1 – only that price with PP now – get up early to get on!

2.35: PP also slightly ‘marooned’ at 9/1 about Lucifugous

3.05: Skybet & BetVictor looking a tad too big at 13/2 with Eynhallow

3.40: Seaborn attracted plenty of support at 9/2 earlier this morning – that price is only available now with Hills

5.15: PP offer 8/1 about Poet’s Society – too big?

CHEPSTOW:

3.15: Hills are out on a limb at 12/1 about Thomas Cranmer – 7/1 in a place and much lower generally

REDCAR: 

2.55: PP are offering Round The Island at 10/1 which is probably as big as he will be today…

NEWCASTLE: 

5.40: The PP offices will be full of enquiries about Lopes Dancer very soon at 12/1 me thinks – 7/1 with Ladbrokes

6.40: 22/1 about Warfare is slightly too big with PP I’ll wager – 14’s in a place and around 18/1 in general terms

7.10: The 12/1 quote by Skybet about Tansheet might not last long this morning….

7.40: Bet365 are taking a chance by offering Faay at 28/1 to win and place money

8.10: Equally, 365 are big about Bee Machine at 14’s…..

We suffered from a touch of ‘seconditis’ yesterday by my records show that when we have been similarly ‘afflicted’, we have bounced back stronger than ever!

Today’s work additionally offers a quick appraisal of last year’s three day meeting at Yarmouth which is worth a second glance.

 

In form trainers (based on a minimum strike rate of 25% unless very good level stake profit figures are in place) include:

7/27–Kevin Ryan (+26) – 5 today: 3 at Redcar: Dandy’s Beano (1.20), Perfect Symphony (2.55) & Fine Example (5.05) + 2 at Newcastle: Savannah Moon (6.10) & Finisher (7.10)

6/18–Eve Johnson Houghton (+16) – 1 at Chepstow: Bhindi (2.45)

5/15–John Quinn (+18) – 1 at Redcar: Van Velde (4.00)

5/16–Sir Michael Stoute (+13) – 2 runners: Intellect (3.05 Yarmouth) & Sable Island (4.20 Chepstow)

5/19–Ed Dunlop (+8) – 3 at Newcastle: Vision Clear (7.10), Faay (7.40) & The Lacemaker (9.10)

4/6–David Evans (+13) – 1 at Chepstow: Brockley Rise (2.45)

3/6–Andrew Balding – 1 at Chepstow: Berkshire Boy (3.15)

Last year’s three day meeting stats/facts at Yarmouth:

19 races – 20 winners via a dead heat – Although only four favourites prevailes, 19/20 winners were returned at a top price of 12/1.

William Haggas led the way with three winners which were returned at 7/2, 3/1 & 5/6*.  William’s runners (and number of entries for Thursday) for the next three days:

Today: 2 runners: Mashaheer (2.00) & One Master (4.10)

Tomorrow: None declared, even though William held four entries at the weekend – For the record, William has declared one runner at Sandown and another at Beverley on Wednesday

Thursday: 12 potential runners, with final declarations announced later this morning

Two other trainers saddled a brace of winners during the three days last year at Yarmouth; Mark Johnston (7/2 & 3/1) & David Simcock (12/1 & 4/1)
