Mal Boyle Stats – Tuesday 5th

Monday’s school report:

3 MMA WINNERS at 8/1 (returned at 4/1), 11/2 (10/3) & 9/2 (11/4) backed up by four second placed horses, one of which was the other selection to the 9/2 winner in the only race in which I offered two horses to consider, resulting in a 13/1 Exacta forecast.

We smashed up the prices in the last two races at at Ayr (in most races to be honest) but even though they were backed in from 6/1 to 2/1* and 9/2 into 15/8* – they finished out with the washing.  Hopefully you might have laid the pair off at shorter prices.

The first paragraph of my Two Year Old notes feature at Windsor offered the 11/10 winner but also suggested that Chuck Willis was a juvenile to keep an eye on at the first time of asking – finished third at 33/1.

Let’s hope for one or two more winners to add to today’s gold medallists today to add icing on the cake.

TUESDAY STAT ATTACKS:

BANGOR:

7 races – 1 winning favourite – All 7 winners scored at a top price of 11/1

Leading trainer at Bangor this season:

Henry Daly is on the two winner mark after just one meeting though unfortunately, Henry is not represented at the track today.

Donald McCain has long since been hailed as the leading light at this venue and he has saddled the only winning (7/2) favourite at the track this season.  For the record, Donald’s 147 winners at Bangor is 47 clear of his next best venue (Sedgefield).

Donal saddles five runners here today: Sonic (2.00), Secret Escape (2.30), Danceintothelight & Prince Khurrum (3.30) & Golden Investment (4.00)

FONTWELL:

21 races – 4 winning favourites – 19/21 winners scored at a top price of 10/1

Leading trainers at Fontwell this season:

3/11—Gary Moore (5/1, 9/2 & 9/4) – 6 runners today: Olymnia (2.15), Diakali & Argyle (2.45), Bagging Turf (4.15) & What A Muddle & Muddle Thinking (5.15)

2/4—Colin Tizzard (3/1 & 11/4**) – 1 runner: Ruby Russett (2.15)

SOUTHWELL (NH):

21 races – 6 winning favourites – All 21 winners scored at a top price of 12/1

Leading trainers at Southwell this season:

4/10—Dan Skelton (9/2, 11/4*, 11/4** & 7/4*) – 4 runners: Too Many Diamonds (6.35), Weightfordave (7.35), Symphony Of Angels (8.35) & Significant Other (9.05)

2/2—Mark Walford (5/1 & 9/4) – 1 runner: Oliver’s Gold (8.35)

NEWCASTLE (A/W):

Latest findings at Newcastle (last five meetings):

36 races – 12 winning favourites – 29/36 winners scored at a top price of 12/1

Unfortunately, recent meetings have created seven trainers on the two winner mark with no handler having managed to snare the third – I will keep you posted for the next meeting….

Other interesting stats/facts today:

Aside from Mark Walford’s interest at Southwell (see details above), it’s worth noting that Mark has saddled four of his last seven runners to winning effect (21 points of level stake profit) – his other runner today is Druid’s Diamond (6.45 Newcastle)

Peter Bowen boasts a ratio of 4/5 of late (+17 LSP) and his only runner until Friday at the earliest in Chantara Rose (4.45 Fontwell) today.

TWO TEAR OLD NOTES:

6.15 Newcastle:

There is nothing original to offer today with just one juvenile event to report on the all weather surface at Gosforth Park.

I am a little surprised to find Richard Spencer dropping Alfie Solomons back in trip as it was always the intention of him running over six furlongs, or so it was established in a stable visit earlier in the year.  That said, ‘Alfie’ was still bang there with a furlong to run at Newbury when offering plenty of promise  on debut whereby by this minimum trip target is understandable I guess.

Alfie Solomons definitely sets the standard in the contest, though whether a newcomer is lurking with something more to offer remains unknown to yours truly at the time of writing.
