Yesterday’s main offering was backed down from 8/1 to 5/2 but was still beaten, though no damage should have been done, given the opportunity to have a’ bet to nothing’ by laying off on a very quiet day.  Some of the clues were there for winners,  given the extensive work offered in the Southwell service.

3.40: Five-year-olds lead the six-year-olds 4-3 via the last nine renewals.  Seven favourite have prevailed during the study period.

LINGFIELD:

2.20: Richard Fahey (Ventura Gold) has won the last two renewals when represented. 

3.20: Les Eyre (Queen Of Kalahari) is the only represented trainer who have landed this prize in recent times.  Six of the last seven winners have scored at a top price of 7/2, stats which include three successful market leaders.

4.20: Nine of the last ten winners have scored at a top price of 7/1 which include five successful favourites of one description or another.  Four-year-olds have won four of the last nine contests, whilst the last seven gold medallists carried a minimum weight of 9-2.

4.50: Five and six-year-olds have equally shared six of the last seven renewals.

Nine of the last ten winners have won at 7/1 or less, stats which include three winning favourites.

WOLVERHAMPTON:

5.45 & 6.15 (two divisions): Three-year-olds have won four of the five contests thus far, whilst the last three favourite have prevailed.

7.15: The last five gold medallists have been burdened with a minimum weight of 9-5, whilst the last seven winners scored at a top price of 9/2.

7.45: Favourites have won seven of the last nine renewals, whilst seven of the last eight winners carried 9-1 or more.

8.15: Marco Botti has recorded three wins in the contest but the trainer is not represented this time around.  Marco saddles just one runner on the card, namely Flora Tristran (6.15).

MUSSELBURGH is a new fixture on Wednesday.
