Down Royal Racecourse
Introduction to Down Royal Racecourse
One of only two race courses in Northern Ireland (the other being Downpatrick), racegoers have been enjoying the action from Down Royal since the 17th Century.
Significant recent investment has seen the racecourse facilities modernized and improved.
The feature race is the Ulster Derby, run as part of the three day Summer Festival.

Down Royal Racecourse Facilities
The redevelopment of Down Royal, started with Phase 1 in 1993, and finished as recently as June 2009 (Phase 2) has seen the addition of fourteen corporate boxes, a VIP hospitality suite, enhanced viewing area directly overlooking the finishing post. There is also a plush new public bar in which to celebrate / drown your sorrows.
Refreshment Facilities
The modern facilities include fast food counters, self-service restaurant, bars and a cafe. On festival days there are additional bars and food outlets.
Corporate Facilities
The VIP Suite on the first floor of the grandstand can accommodate up to 130 guests in tables of 10. Private marquees can also be provided for between 50 and 1,500 people. Facilities in both cases include CCTV, private Tote betting, private bar and of course quality food and service. There are also a number of private boxes available.
