Introduction to Limerick Racecourse
Limerick racecourse opened at its current location in October 2001 to a record crowd of 18,000. It has first rate modern facilities in the Hugh McMahon Stand. It is the seventh venue for racing in Co. Limerick since the first recorded fixtures in 1790. Its predecessors were Bruff, Rathkeale, Newcastle, Lemonfield, Ballinacurra and Greenpark.
