The aim of the system is to make at least a 10% profit on each race in which we play.

There are specific races on which to operate the system and, obviously as we are backing more than one runner per race, the prices of those that qualify for selection must also be suitable for inclusion in the Dutching Diamond system.

If a profit cannot be made having backed each qualifier then the race is not included. A spreadsheet application helps us identify whether we can expect to make our target profit or not.

So how did Dutching Diamond perform?

Well, the first thing to say is that the system does not produce that many selections but, on the plus side, those that were qualifiers largely produced profitable returns during our month test.

Over the full trial period only ten races qualified but of these eight were winners for us, making a monster 80% strike rate.

Our initial £1000 bank grew by a healthy if not stellar 4.3% to £1043.00. This was from using a very modest £50 per race divided between the selections (i.e. 5% of bank per race). Given the dutched approach, it should be possible to use 10-15% of bank per race.

Using larger stakes would obviously produce bigger returns, though the percentage return on investment would remain the same.

Overall, I was very impressed with the Dutching Diamond System, with the only downside being the small number of selections. In fairness, though, it may have been a month when there were less than the normal number of races in which to play.
