The Disqus Comments System
One of the most useful features we’ve added to the new “Horse-Racing.ie” website is a commenting/feedback system for WordPress (the software we use to manage the site) called Disqus. Rather than relying on the inbuilt commenting system in WordPress, which is kind of limited when you have a site that’s attracted literally thousands of comments for individual articles in the past, we felt it made sense to upgrade to a solution that’s far more robust and way more user friendly… and Disqus fits the bill nicely.
Tens of thousands of websites now use Disqus to handle their visitor/subscriber comments and I’ve got to say that it’s an absolutely brilliant tool that interconnects communities of people, rather than forcing you to register for single websites individually, which – as you’ll discover in the very near future – will make your life as a betting enthusiast so much easier too. We’ve got big plans for what we can do with this, so watch this space.
If you haven’t yet registered for Disqus please take a minute or two to do it now and you’ll soon start to see the benefits. You only need to register once and your “identity” will then follow you around between websites, which (trust me) is going to prove extremely useful to you over the coming weeks and months.
