US Sports Betting Tips (Part 3)

Here are some more sports betting tips that I think will be a big help to bettors of all experience levels…

Always Do Your Homework

Doing your homework does not end when you finish school. As a bettor, you have the distinct advantage of actually streamlining your research, a move that a good number of sports books just cannot afford to do in any way. They must look and consistently have the information for all sports and price up them all.

The best method for winning money in sports betting is to develop a niche and then follow it very closely. If you become an expert on a smaller conference like the WAC, you can have a good chance of beating the house because sports book operators just do not have the time or the resource that will allow them to follow this particular sport in a thorough manner. A thing that you can actually do. You do not necessarily have to go out in order to do your research either. There is so much information available on the internet these days and it will only depend on you and your sleuthing skills whether you can find valuable information online that’s worth staking your money on, or not.

Always Check The Odds

There are sports books that provide better odds on both parlays and teasers. When you are betting big money the difference in the given odds means that there can be a big difference in the payout. All it takes is a little research of the sports books where you would normally place your bets. Most of these sites actually have payout odds that are listed in such a way that it is quite easy for a bettor to locate what he is looking for. It’s worth noting that more experienced bettors swear off playing parlays and teasers as a general rule.

Play Home Dogs

According to experts there is no better bet in sports than playing an underdog in his home. It is a phenomenon that warrants further investigation but it is true that teams or individuals usually play a more inspired game when they are in their hometown. The slim underdogs regularly win outright. Big underdogs, meanwhile, often get ways to cover the spread and they are not known to give up toward the end of a game right in front of the home crowd.

There Is A Right Time For Betting

The sharper and more wise bettors have a habit of betting for the underdogs and they usually bet on them late. The squares usually have a tendency to bet earlier in the day or the week and they have a general behaviour of picking their favourites. If you are a person who prefers the underdogs then the best thing you can do is place your bet at the very latest. This is the time when most of the heavy action is on the favourites. In case you want to go and bet on a favourite then it would be a good idea to place your bet earlier on in the week when the professional bettors are more concerned with putting their money on the points.
