Exacta – Doncaster – 1.50

1st: Warm Spell (8)

2nd: Battle Cry (1)

Warm Spell cost a hefty €170,000 as a foal, and then went for 260,000 guineas as a yearling, so the Mehmas colt was a costly horse. He produced a very good debut effort behind a classy and experienced runner at Goodwood over 6f before making no mistake when clocking a good time at Newbury over when last seen. The Aidan O’Brien trained Battle Cry won a valuable maiden at York when last seen and still could be anything so he can chase him home.

Exacta – Doncaster – 2.25

1st: Flora Of Bermuda (11)

2nd: Kylian (5)

Florida Of Bermuda was the first horse home on the far side when finishing sixth of 26 runners in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, and improved again for the switch to heavy ground when off the mark in stylish fashion in a 5f Goodwood race after that. She wasn’t seen to best effect in the Lowther but back on soft ground with conditions to suit, she should be bang there. Karl Burke’s Kylian finished off his race strongly when third in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood on heavy ground recently and will also enjoy conditions.

Exacta – Doncaster – 3.00

1st: Coltrane (1)

2nd: Sweet William (3)

Coltrane beat the reopposing Trueshan by a neck in this last year and looked better than ever when landing a Group 2 when beating Gold Cup winner Courage Mon Ami in the Lonsdale Cup at York last month. A 3 lb penalty for that is not going to hinder his chances and he looks likely to keep his crown. The progressive Sweet William can chase him home.
